The Novato Theater Film Club presents Executive Producer Deborah Santana’s GIRLS OF DARAJA on Dec 7, 2013 from 6:00-7:30 p.m. at the San Ramon Multi-Use Room, 45 San Ramon Way, Novato CA. The event includes the film and discussion/O&A with Jason & Jenni Doherty, Founders of the DARAJA ACADEMY and Deborah Santana, Executive Producer & Founder of the “Do a Little” Foundation.

tells the story of the Daraja Academy for girls in Kenya. This film
celebrates the unique and powerful Daraja Academy in Kenya. The Daraja
Academy is a revolutionary idea—a secondary school where remarkable Kenyan
girls, unable to attend school due to the lack of school fees, are given the
one thing they desire most … a chance to succeed. Daraja Academy provides

The Novato Theater Film Club is a cinema society
and your ticket to discovering carefully selected films in our local
community. Club members enjoy screenings ranging from traditional
classics and documentaries to contemporary foreign and independent films.
The screenings will often include a guest speaker(s) who is a local expert in
the subject matter or a person who is affiliated with the evening’s film.
Each screening will have a nominal donation and include light
refreshments. Screening will have limited seating and Club members have
advance notice to reserve first. Proceeds from all Film Club events
are donations and benefit the Novato Theater, a 501 (c)(3) non-profit community
benefit corporation that is leading the rebuilding and operation of the
