Novato Teen Honored as Scholar Athlete

St. Vincent High School:  Meet Senior Maddie Perry, the Scholar Athlete for September. During this fall athletic season, Maddie is being recognized for her commitment and dedication to academics, community, and sport.
Maddie came to the Mustangs from St. Isabella’s in Terra Linda as a Freshman. She currently resides in Novato with her parents Dr. & Mrs. McKell Perry. As a 5’2″ freshman she worried about making the teams at St. Vincent, but there was no need as she has excelled in the sports of soccer and basketball. Maddie currently plays center defender for the soccer team and is often assigned the best player from the opposition, who many times tower over her. But they cannot match the size of her heart and her desire to do her best.
After three years at St. Vincent, Maddie has maintained a 4.11 GPA with a number of Honors and AP courses. Maddie has embraced the school”s motto of “enter to learn, leave to serve” by putting in 320 hours of community service with extended mission trips to Mexico. Upon reflecting back on her high school career, she says her most rewarding experience at St. Vincent has been the hours she has spent serving her immediate and global community. Maddie hopes to attend either Cal Poly SLO or UC Davis in the fall. We are proud of Maddie’s achievements and congratulate her on her success at St. Vincent do Paul High School.
