Novato Knicks battled to be the 2013 Nor Cal Collegiate Champions

The Novato Knicks pulled off the 2013 NorCal Collegiate Championship Title coming out of the losers bracket.
First game Friday 8/9 the Knicks won 8-4 over San Mateo Rounders. Second game Saturday 8/10 Knicks lost 12-4 to Solano Mudcats. Third game Saturday 8/10 Knicks won 6-2 over PWBL Cal to get into the championship game.
Knicks had to come back Sunday 8/11 and beat the Solano Mudcats twice for the Championship Title. They did just that.
Game 1 Knicks won 5-3. Lek Cole was the starting pitcher and went 7 innings for the win.  Game winning hit was a bases loaded clearing double by Parker Shaw off of pitcher A.J. Quinterro who is a top notch closer for Cal State Monterrey Bay.
Game 2 Knicks won 12-3 for the championship title. Wade Berryhill pitched 7 strong innings for the win.  San Marin High standout Ryan Schalch dominated the final two innings striking out 3 batters to secure the championship. In the first inning of the game the Knicks scored 8 runs to set the tone for the rest of the game.  It was the first time all tournament the Knicks had a little luck that granted seven walks and a couple knocks to bust the door down in the first inning. Never looking back, the Knicks took the opportunity to keep the Solano Mudcats quiet for the rest of the day.
It was a great feeling for Brett Kim who is a longtime Novato Knick and Coach for over 20 years to put together another phenomenal season.  Coach Mike Nackord who recruited and organized the operation. Joe Stogner who is a player/coach on the field and well respected amongst the team helped lead the Knicks to a Championship Title.
