Reds 10  Marlins 9

The Marlins and the Reds again had a tight, one run game with the Reds prevailing 10-9 on a walk off Sacrifice Fly by Joe Garbarino. This one was much different for the two likely playoff opponents as a lot of runs crossed the plate, as the ball flew around the park. The Marlins took advantage of three walks, an error and a base hit from Logan Desmond to take a quick 3-0 lead. The Reds came right back with  a four run first as Patrick Jameson led off with a single and Joe Garbarino followed with a walk. Joey Rempe lined a single down the right field line to score Matt DeFilippis to get the fourth run across. When Frankie Bondanza stroked a single to left it looked like a very big innings for the Reds, but  Marlin Pitcher Peter Hunt left runners at second and third with a strike out and fly out to limit the damage. The Reds put up another run on Jameson’s double to right center, and an RBI hit to right by DeFilippis. The Marlins fought back with a three run third, as Sebastian Gocobachi single in a pair, and Nick DeGeorge got the tying run across on a well executed two out squeeze bunt. Reds second baseman Joey Rempe stopped the Marlins rally with a leaping catch of a line drive. The lead went back and forth as first the Marlins scored two run in the top of the fourth after Peter Hunt and Logan Desmond singled to open the inning. The Reds came right back with two of their own in the bottom of the inning on singles from Garbarino, DeFilippis, and Rempe, and a double by Lamond.  The game did not stay tied long, as the Marlins took advantage of two Reds errors to take the lead back at 7-5. Again the Reds answered right back as  Ryan McDermott drove a single over the bag at third, and advanced on a walk issued to Garbarino.  When Lamond singled to left, the Reds had the bases loaded. Christian Pedersen-Seaman got one run home on a ground out, and when the throw got past the 1st baseman, Garbarino alertly scampered home, and we were again tied at 9-9. Anthony Okun opened the Marlins sixth with a base hit, and got into scoring position on a steal of second, but DeFilippis made a lunging catch of a line drive headed to left field for the third out, setting the stage for last inning Reds heroics. Bondanza led off by drawing four pitch walk, He was erased on a fielder choice off the bat of Brandon Kelly. Kelly moved up to second on a balk.  Walks to Jameson and Tyler Abell, brought Joe Garbarino to the plate with the bases loaded and the winning run on third. Garbarino drove a 1-1 pitch deep to left field, and Kelly sprinted home for the walk off 10-9 win.
