Maine Lobsters Pick Up - 10-1PM, Saturday, 10/19th - Benefiting Girls and Women

Soroptimist International of Novato will fly in fresh Maine lobsters on Saturday, October 19.

This is an annual fundraiser for our service organization.  The proceeds from this event will go toward our Scholarship Fund which yearly benefits graduating students from each Novato High School recognizing them for their academic achievement and personal growth.

The mission of the club is to ‘improve the lives of women and girls, locally and globally’  - click here for Soroptimist International of Novato Projects  and we continue to look for worthy projects to support. 

The money we raised are used for scholarships (our own - Violet Richardson Award (ages 14-17, volunteer based – application now thru 12/01/13) and Women’s Opportunity Awards - application by 12/15/3), scholarship for high school graduates; we also support Gilead House, Novato Youth Center, North Bay Children Center, Hospice by the Bay, Safe and Sober Grad Night for both high schools, National Multiple Scleroses Society, Novato Public Access TV, etc. 

The world’s finest lobster comes from Maine.  It tastes delicious and it’s good for you!  Maine lobster is a heart healthy protein, with less calories, less fat and less cholesterol than lean beef; whole poached eggs; and even roasted, skinless chicken breast.   Maine harvesters lead in lobster sustainability.  They harvest their lobsters the same careful way they have for over 125 years — by hand, one trap at a time — thus protecting the quality of their product and the marine environment.

You can order lobsters by mailing in this Lobster Order Form or by emailing Sylvia Barry at sylvia@sylviaBarryRE.com.  Lobsters whether live or cooked are $20 each.  Please submit your order and mail your payment by October 15.  Be sure to include your e-mail address and phone number with the order so we can remind you to pick up your lobsters.

Pick up of your lobsters will be Saturday, October 19 between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. in front of the historic downtown Novato Theater at 924 Grant Avenue.
