Dreams Do Come True…

The friendship between Novato Fire District’s Jason Pace and CrossFit owner Matt Barnes goes much deeper than just good friends.  They have also created a partnership to help children less fortunate to have their dream come true of owning a new bicycle.

Four years ago, NFD Firefighter/Paramedic Jason Pace began his dream by creating “Free Rides”, a non-profit bicycle program under the Novato Fire Foundation through the Novato Toy Drive.  His idea was to work with the Novato Youth Center to fulfill a child’s wish of a new bike during the holiday season.  Jason matched up with long- time friend Matt Barnes to provide the youth in the Novato community new bicycles that will also encourage a healthy lifestyle through fun and exercise.

This year, CrossFit owners; Matt and Nicole Barnes and Travis and Amy Brackett, and CrossFit members, donated $ 660.00 towards 10 new bicycles and helmets.  When Jason was asked how he knows how many bikes to buy and assemble, he said “it all depends on how many children have a new bike on their wish list.  It is all about fulfilling a dream from a wish list”.
