Create a new era for the City's Multicultural Commission

Develop a new era for the City’s Multicultural Advisory Commission—join us for a frank and robust discussion on how best this long-standing City-Council appointed group can best serve the diverse community of Novato.

When:  Saturday, July 27, 9:30 a.m.-Noon
Where:  City Hall/Council Chambers
Who: City of Novato Councilmembers, City Manager Michael Frank, and interested community members

The Multicultural Advisory Commission was established in 1995 by the City Council to support equity, inclusion, and respect for all. Since inception, the Commission has addressed diversity awareness in our City by creating the campaign, “The Faces of Novato,” leading the “Not in Our Town” effort in Novato, and developing annual events including “Movies in the Park” and the “Novato Celebrates!” Multicultural Festival.

The July 27 meeting will be a facilitated discussion to better understand, and respond to, the needs of our diverse community. Participants are encouraged to share their experiences, thoughts and ideas on how best the Commission and City leaders can address our residents’ needs.
