Volunteers Needed to Help Lower-Income Seniors with Yard Work

The Novato Independent Elders Program is looking for volunteers to help Novato seniors with their overgrown yards. Spring is here and the weeds are high. Untidy yards can lead to complaints from landlords and neighbors and can cause anxiety, frustration and depression for seniors.  

If you have some time to spare, enjoy gardening, and would like to help a fellow citizen, call NIEP at 899-8296.

To participate in the program seniors must be lower income and physically unable to do the work themselves.

NIEP is a program of Episcopal Senior Community and operates out of Margaret Todd Senior Center.

Both are grassroots groups working with local government to ask much needed questions regarding Plan Bay Area. Your comments are reminiscent of a previous poster named Bud Lite who was engaged in heated exchanges. Since his name continued to evolve it was only his message that made him recognizable. No one can give you the world but NCA and NHA are both resources that can provide information and discussion of important local issues.
