Our Lady of Loretto School & Church will jointly celebrate Catechetical Sunday on Sept. 18 during the 9 .a.m. Mass.
This year’s theme is “Do This in Memory of Me.” Those whom the community has designated to serve as catechists will be called forth to be commissioned for their ministry.
The U.S. bishops began Catechetical Sunday in the 1970s as a way of affirming the work of catechists and teachers in the United States. Faculty of both Our Lady of Loretto School and the OLL Parish School of Religion will be on hand.
Catechetical Sunday offers a wonderful opportunity to reflect as a family on the role that each person plays in the handling and practicing of the Catholic faith.
