The ICB Artists Association is a large, vibrant and diverse community of talented artists in Sausalito, California. Located in a historic WWII-era industrial building (ICB), the lofts are home to artists working in all media, including painting, sculpture, photography, digital media, jewelry, printmaking, fiber arts and much more. Ellen Dodd of Novato is one of over 100 artists who have a studio at the ICB located at 480 Gate 5 Road in Sausalito.
Winter Open Studios falls on the first weekend of December each year. This year is the 44th event and eighty plus artists are riffing on the musical theme of 4/4 time. The hours for Open Studios are 11-6 both Saturday and Sunday Dec. 1 and 2. Free to the public. A group show in Gallery 111 "Rhythm and Hues" will highlight the influence of music on art and incorporate materials from the world of music. Live acoustic youth musical groups including Throckappella, 142 Throckmorton Theatre’s Teen A Cappella Ensemble, will fill the halls with art for the ears.
Ellen has created a piece of the group show and her studio will be open for the event. Ellen always has music on when she paints:
" Music and colors are related. They both evoke emotions. Each color has its own sound and its own emotion."
– Ellen Levine Dodd
