Family BBQ. The U.S. Air Force Junior ROTC program, a high school elective course for Marin schools, began the new semester with a family barbecue, softball, swimming and a parent seminar on how to help your student succeed in school. The JROTC staff began the new with a family BBQ and friendly game of softball to ensure that new students and family members had an opportunity to meet other families already at Novato High School's JROTC program.

The seminar covered how to check homework status on the website, how to contact teachers, creating a student weekly study schedule, tutoring opportunities, student organization, nutrition, and many more helpful hints. Parents enjoyed talking to other parents to gain ideas on how to help one another.
Building Better Citizens for America (BBCA) awards $600 to a cadet for SAT prep class. Mrs. Susan Miller, President of the BBCA, awarded Cadet Nick Langevin a full scholarship to attend SAT prep training. Nick is a top JROTC leader, a 4.0 GPA scholar, and varsity football and la crosse team member.
