Harry Thomas was installed in a ceremony July 7 as the new president of the Rotary Club of Novato Sunrise. He will serve as president for the 2012-13 year.
Thomas, who retired in 2010 as chief compliance officer at Hennessy Advisors, is a board member with the Marin Economic Forum and the Novato Economic Commission.
The ceremony followed a “debunking” of past president Drew McIntyre, chief engineer of the , during which significant life events were portrayed by members of the club.

The Sunrise Club, known as “the little club that can,” meets at 7 a.m. Tuesday mornings at in Novato. The club was by the for its smoke detector project which was credited with saving a life. The Sunrise Rotary Club in recent years has sponsored a circus, supplied to dictionaries to school children, sponsored an essay contest for high school and middle school children and raises money by selling Christmas trees at St. Vincent’s.
For the first time this year the Sunrise Rotary will be putting on an Oktoberfest on Saturday, Oct. 12. More details to come!
