The City of Novato is seeking two qualified individuals to perform routine to difficult work in the maintenance of roadside landscapes, median islands and street trees on the City's right of way.
ESSENTIAL AND IMPORTANT DUTIES
(Duties may include, but are not limited to:)
Operate a variety of equipment such as: mowers, tractors, trenchers, chain saws, stump grinders and a variety of hand tools.
Water, mow, weed, trim, renovate and fertilize public lawns; prune trees, and shrubs; plant trees, flowers and shrubs.
Prepare and maintain median islands, roadside landscapes and related facilities; remove weeds and pick up litter.
Perform the trimming of trees by climbing and/or utilizing an aerial bucket; grind and remove tree stumps.
Apply herbicides, fungicides and pesticides safely, and maintain accurate records.
Construct and maintain fencing, sheds, planters and other city owned structures; perform graffiti removal tasks as required.
