For the ones who know me, I never pass up a good challenge; especially one that will net a much-needed $100,000 for Novato public schools just by getting our friends, family and community members involved. Not to mention, Novato Patch is one of the best Patch sites and has probably the most readership in the country!
Patch announced the ‘Deck Your House and Win $100,000 for Novato Public Schools’ contest on Dec. 9, and I thought to myself: SURELY, TOGETHER WE CAN DO THIS!
All we need to do is to get started, especially with the perfect house right here in Novato for the past 20 years! We can at least say we tried.
Time is of Essence. So I went to the Rembeiro’s Christmas House on Devonshire on recent night, took the pictures and made the video: ‘The Legendary Rombeiro Christmas House on Devonshire.”
All you have to do is simply to ‘Vote For This House’ ... vote daily until Jan. 8 and make sure you pass this onto all your friends, family, including your acquaintances who might care. You do have to overlook the overzealous animation that might make your head swirl a little.
The following is part of Brent’s article ‘Deck Your House and Win $100,000 for Novato Public Schools’:
Patch.com has launched a nationwide contest to find the best dressed home in its Patch communities, and the winner’s school district will receive $100,000, no strings attached.
Here’s how the contest works: Through Dec. 26, you can nominate your home by uploading a photo to the contest entry form on the contest site. You and your neighbors can vote for your favorite festive home. The winning entry will be forwarded to a national Patch judge who will select 24 finalists. Each finalist will receive $500 that they can apply to their December electric bill.
Watch this news story about the contest from CBS5 TV.
From Dec. 30 through Jan. 8, you will be able to vote for the Best Decked House in all of Patch. The grand prize winner’s school district will receive a $100,000 check from Patch.
All you have to do is simply to ‘Vote For This House’ daily until Jan. 8 and make sure you pass this onto all your friends, family, including your acquaintances who might care. To be most effective, remind your friends daily so we have the best chance of winning this grand prize for our schools.
To be most effective, make sure you remind friends daily to vote.

Whether you have kids in NUSD schools or not, good schools are good for our kids and the community.

I visited the Rombeiro home this evening. What lovely folks and such generosity. To open their home to the community to share the joy. If you want to get into the Christmas spirit a visit is in order. 20 years makes it a true Novato tradition. Vote.

That's a slide show, not a video. After you check out some of the videos with lights timed to music you'll realize that house on Devonshire is no big deal.

Thank you for your efforts Sylvia. Wonderful support for our students. Maybe you can include a video of "How the Grinch Stole Xmas" for the critics.
