Youth Center Celebrates 35th Anniversary, Accepts $10,000 Donation
About 180 people help NYC mark a milestone, and Supervisor Judy Arnold hands over check to help buy down center's $30,000 deficit.
On a rain-soaked Thursday, the Novato Youth Center invited 180 of its closest friends to celebrate 35 years of providing services to kids and families. Executive Director Cheryl Paddack told the audience that the center was facing a $30,000 deficit and that a fundraising campaign would be in high gear as it heads toward a June 30 deadline. Judy Arnold, who represents most of Novato on the Marin County Board of Supervisors, then stepped up and handed over a check for $10,000 to get things started, prompting a nice ovation. I am sorry I missed the celebration of a very worthy place. It's a shame that while we are busy talking about issues, we lose sight of shining examples in Novato. Novato Youth Center is one of those.
Novato Youth Center is one of the best kept secret in Novato. They have a wonderful day care facility with caring staff that provides quality supervision and various activities; as well as great facilities for the kids both indoors and outdoors. My sons also enjoyed indoor soccer there for several dreary winters.
NYC offers scholoarships for families in need so the children can stay at the center for quality care after school while their parents go to work, which is great for the community!
These are just a few things that I personally know; I am sure there are many more!

NYC has served my family well for 6 years now. From day care for my 2 kids to counseling services and sports programs. We really appreciate the programs that they have to offer.

NYC is providing a wonderful and very worthwhile centre for today's youth of Marin County, providing them with opportunities to develop good studying habits and participating in sports activities that will help them grow into self confident adults meeting today's hectic world.
Congratulations onyour 35th Annivesary. Keep up the good work.
