Please Take Me Back

Shopping carts travel long distances to help consumers.

My aim is to carry your load and I am ready to roll. Why must you pass me by in the parking lot, only to pick up my twin -- right in front or inside the store?

Do you know stores employ people to constantly round-up shopping carts all day, every day they are open? Some stores have two employees dedicated to this job and during the holidays sometimes had as many as five employees performing this mundane task to ensure there is a cart for you to use. How much does this cost stores? It makes you wonder how much the cart round-up adds to the cost of goods?

Costco has approximately 1,100 shopping carts in front of their store. Sometimes there are just a few carts to chose from  at the front of the store. Isn't this amazing? One thousand carts left all over the Vintage Oaks parking lots, sidewalks and cart corrals.

So next time you walk past me, please consider rolling me back to the store. Just maybe the stores might pass this savings on to the consumers.
