Novato Man Booked After Alleged Strangulation

Police said they apprehended a 43-year-old Novato resident after he allegedly threatened to kill intended victim.

Novato Police arrested 43-year-old Novato resident Grant Wehr Saturday morning after he allegedly strangled another man at a home in the 100 block of Lobo Vista.

Police responded to a report of threats being made in the home at around 10:44 a.m. and officers' investigation “revealed that Wehr had strangled the victim with a towel. During the strangulation, Wehr repeatedly told the victim that he was going to kill him. Wehr struck the victim in the mouth with his elbow and fled the scene,” NPD reported.

Wehr was contacted and detained by Marin County Sheriffs deputies in the vicinity of Marin General Hospital. Novato police went to the hospital and arrested Wehr on suspicion of battery, assault with a deadly weapon, criminal threats and committing a felony while on bail.
