Naked Guy Asked to Stay Indoors

The following information from Sept. 22-25 was supplied by the Novato Police Department. Arrests do not indicate a conviction.

The Headliner: 

Sept. 24, 8:54 a.m. – A naked man was reported in the roadway in the vicinity of Center Road and Tamalpais Avenue.  A man was contacted at his residence in the 1600 block of Center Road and appeared to match the description given.  He also appeared to have been drinking and was with his roommates.  He was advised of the reported concerns and he agreed to stay indoors.

2:28 a.m. – A suspicious vehicle was reported in the 800 block of Diablo Avenue.  A person was found sleeping in a light green Ford van.  The person was contacted, identified and advised of Novato municipal code pertaining to sleeping in vehicles and moved along. 

2:48 a.m. – A man in the vicinity of Diablo Avenue and Novato Boulevard was arrested and booked into Marin County Jail for public drunkenness.

11:31 a.m. – A burglary was reported at a storage facility on Landing Court.  Unknown(s) gained access to a locked storage unit and rummaged through it and stole some tools.  Estimated loss is $500. 

12:15 p.m. – A driver was cited in the vicinity of Alameda del Prado and Nave Drive for driving with a suspended license and an open container. 

6:39 p.m. – Advice was requested by a man in the 1100 block of Third Street who had an affair with a married woman.  He believes that the woman’s husband is leaving CDs of his phone conversations between himself and the woman at his residence.  Advice was provided regarding restraining orders. 

6:47 p.m. – Unknown(s) had burned a real estate sign in the vicinity of Hansen Road and Wilson Avenue.  

7:27 p.m. – A parent threatened school administration at Novato High School during “Back to School Night.”  A woman used curse words and harsh language with a school principal about schedule changes and budgets at the school.  No personal threats were made but the principal wanted the parent advised that further disruptive behavior would not be tolerated. 

7:39 p.m. – A driver in the 900 block of Diablo Avenue was cited and released for multiple vehicle code violations including driving with a suspended license.  The vehicle was also impounded and towed. 

10:44 p.m. – A missing girl was reported on Isabella Court.  The girl left without the parental permission but was last seen at the Novato High School's Back to School Night.  When the father came home, his daughter was gone. 

Sept. 23 

2:42 a.m. – A person in the 1500 block of South Novato Boulevard was arrested for driving under the influence. 

3:30 a.m. – A woman in the 1400 block of South Novato Boulevard said she does not want to live.  There are no weapons involved but she said she tried to “drink herself stupid.”  She was held for psychiatric evaluation. 

6:17 a.m. – A burglary was reported on Margarita Terrace after it was discovered that a white 2008 Chevy van was broken into over night.  All of the door locks had been punched.  Battery powered tools were taken. 

2:29 p.m. – A burglary was reported in the 2400 block of Center Road.  The reporting party believes her homeless son and a friend are sleeping in the yard and entering the house.  She also believes that her son’s friend may be responsible for missing items in her house.  One was sent away from the house without police assistance.  The reporting party will consider compiling an inventory of missing items and filing a police report. 

4:19 p.m. – Shoplifting was reported in the 1100 block of Grant Avenue.  Two white women in their late 30s had reportedly taken two or three shirts off a rack in front of the store and fled.  

4:39 p.m. – A burglary was reported in the 1000 block of Seventh Street. Two vehicles had been gone through. The loss was a purse with a Mexican identification card, $300 and loose change. 

5:24 p.m. – A man was reported staggering through a parking lot in the 1500 block of South Novato Boulevard.  He was found to be drunk in public and was in violation of probation for drinking.  He was also in possession of marijuana and booked into Marin County Jail. 

5:42 p.m. – A man was found intoxicated in front of a business in the 1500 block of South Novato Boulevard.  It was found that he was on active probation for drinking.  He was booked into Marin County Jail for public drunkenness and for a probation violation. 

5:58 p.m. – A was arrested in the 100 block of Westwood Drive for an outstanding Sonoma County warrant and for driving with a suspended license.  There is also a related on going investigation regarding false plates on a motorcycle.  

6:59 p.m. – A burglary was reported in the 100 block of Landing Court and a storage facility.  A victim found that all of his tools had been stolen from his storage unit.  Theft had occurred sometime during a two-week period. 

11:59 p.m. – A robbery was reported at the Safeway store on Diablo Avenue.  A 12-year-old white girl wearing black sweats and pants ran out of the store with a bottle of alcohol.  She was with three other kids, two black boys about 15 years old and one Hispanic boy.  They were last seen headed toward Diablo Avenue. 

Sept. 24 

4:08 a.m. – A noise disturbance was reported in the 1500 block of Hill Road.  The driver of a loud semi truck was leaving his engine running in the early morning hours.   A driver for Ghillotti Brothers was contacted on scene and advised of the complaint.  He shut down his engine and said the construction should only be for another week.     

9:12 a.m. – A hit-and-run misdemeanor with a sign was reported in the 5700 block of Nave Drive. 

2:12 p.m. – A boy on a bike wearing a white Halloween mask and a plaid shirt with khaki shorts stole a plastic ice cream statue from a sandwich board fronting Henry’s Burgers on Novato Boulevard.  He was last seen on Wilson Avenue heading toward Center Road.  The estimated loss was $100. 

2:48 p.m. – A woman was struck by her daughter in the head with a fist.  The victim is at a doctor’s office and will stop at the police department on her way home to file a report of battery and dissuading a witness. 

3:48 p.m. – A burglary was reported in the 3000 block of Topaz Drive.  The reporting party said that unknown(s) damaged a lock to gain access to the garage.  It appears they attempted to take a Honda.  The trunk and doors were found open and the battery had been disconnected.  A Fast Trak device and a garage door opener were taken. 

9:01 p.m. – An assault and battery was reported on a Safeway employee at the store on Diablo Avenue.  A man was arrested for battery against a female employee and a probation violation. 

10:04 p.m. – A warrant arrest was made on the 1500 block of Armstrong Avenue. 

10:26 p.m. – A hit-and-run misdemeanor was reported in the vicinity of Rite Aid on Diablo Avenue.  An unknown vehicle hit a 1999 silver Mercedes. 

10:30 p.m. – Four men were reported fighting in the 7200 block of Redwood Boulevard.  One was arrested and booked for public drunkenness. 

Sept. 25 

5:37 a.m. – A fight between two men was reported in the 1000 block of Green Oak Drive.  Both parties were contacted and identified.  Neither party wished to press charges. 

6:19 a.m. – An older woman was reported moaning in her Wyndover apartment on Diablo Avenue for several hours.  The reporting party thinks she may be sick or injured.  The woman was contacted.  She had been drinking and there was no need for medical attention.  Her adult son lives with her. 

8:51 a.m. – Vandalism was reported in the 1700 block of Marion Avenue.  Unknown(s) damaged a 2005 Silver Honda Accord.  The front windshield and taillights were found damaged. 

2:32 p.m. – A reporting party said that on Friday he had hit the directional sign in the center divider near the gas station in the 5700 block of Nave Drive.  He had reported it to the city but wanted to make a police report as well. 

3:56 p.m. – Vandalism was reported in the vicinity of Novato Boulevard and Oliva Drive.  All of the political signs with the exception of one candidate's were destroyed between Parkhaven neighborhood and the Shell station at the Square shopping center. 

5 p.m. – Suspicious circumstances were reported on Tahoe Circle.  A boy approached a woman’s daughter and niece and told them to give him their money and a cell phone.  The boy threatened to have two other girls that with him beat them up if they did not hive him the items.  One girl gave him her $20.  All parties and witnesses were contacted.  The 11-year-old girl claimed the 10-year-old boy took the money from her.  The boy and witnesses claimed he found it on the ground.  Advice was given to all.  No further assistance was requested. 

5:24 p.m. – Five men were seen making a video by a play structure in the kindergarten area of Pleasant Valley School on Sutro Avenue.  The reporting party believes one man had a chrome gun in his waistband and then moved it to a camera bag.   The group was contacted and there was no merit to any violations.  The weapon reported was an air soft pistol and a plastic revolver.  The group was making a rap video.  They were admonished and released. 

8:56 p.m. – A woman said a white man about 5-foot-8 wearing a white T-shirt and blue jeans had stole some marijuana, a pipe and a cell phone from her purse while she was in front of the Donut Works on Redwood Boulevard.  He was last seen heading north on Redwood.  She said she would be able to identify the man. Both were contacted and said they had only been arguing.  Both parties were admonished and released. 

9:16 p.m. – A hit-and-run misdemeanor was reported in the 200 block of Marin Valley Drive.  A Hispanic girl in her late teens driving a white Nissan Maxima hit a black BMW and drove off.  License plate information was provided.
