Update: Moylan's Snags Top Awards at Australian Beer Fest

Novato brewpub comes away with major awards in international competition.

They love their beer in Australia, and now they officially love Novato beer.

Moylan’s Pub & Brewery of Novato was the champion exhibitor at the recent 19th Australian International Beer Awards, taking home top honors in a blind tasting by certified beer judges. Moylan’s received blue ribbons for Champion Exhibitor Brewery and Champion Small Brewery during a gala awards presentation at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Brendan Moylan, a Novato resident who opened his brewpub near the Vintage Oaks shopping center in 1995, passed along the credit to his staff, including brewmaster Denise Jones.

“Thanks to Denise and the Brew Crew at Team Moylan’s,” he said. “We are very humbled by this incredible honor.”

The brewing team received their awards from an Australian representative June 16 at Moylan's.

Moylan’s took home a gold medal for its Moylander Double IPA and Hopsickle Impertial Triple IPA, a silver medal for Chelsea Moylan’s Porter and bronzes for Dragoon’s Dry Irish Stout and Ryan Sullivan’s Imperial Stout.
