Mount Burdell Hiker Stumbles Across Nude Sunbather

The following information from June 27-28 was supplied by the Novato Police Department. Arrests do not indicate a conviction.

11:18 a.m., June 27 — A hiker on the slopes of Mount Burdell reported coming across a woman in her 40s lying naked in the grass. The woman said she was just sunbathing and didn’t want to bother anybody.

6:09 a.m. — A report of assault and battery was reported on Alameda del Prado. A man said he was held down and kicked by his stepson, but officers found no merit to an attack.

10:02 a.m. — An enclosed car trailer was reported stolen over the weekend from the 300 block of Deer Island Lane.

9:42 a.m. — A vacant home in the 200 block of Sunset Drive was broken into via  rear window. Damage estimated at $200.

10:45 a.m. — A person waiting for a child custody exchange in the 400 block of Willow Court is complaining that the other party and child are not there and that it’s an ongoing problem. The missing party was contacted.

11:09 a.m. — A woman in the first block of Richardson Road requested advice for dealing with a neighbor who has been harassing her.

11:51 a.m. — Officers assist Petaluma PD in arresting a domestic violence suspect in the 1700 block of Novato Boulevard.

12:29 p.m. — A report was taken on a fraud case originating from Chase Bank at Vintage Oaks on June 3. The bank has been advised of a possible crime.

2:22 p.m. — A large-screen TV was reportedly taken a location in the 400 block of South Palm Drive. One resident accused another of stealing it or knowing about it, but the second party said he had no involvement.

3:20 p.m. — A welfare check was made in the 1500 block of South Novato Boulevard after someone reported seeing a woman smoking marijuana while pushing a stroller.

3:41 p.m. — An accident was reported at 1400 South Novato Boulevard. A motorcycle collided with a blue Nissan Pathfinder.

6:30 p.m. — Three boys were informed of the regulation against bicycles at the Hamilton Skate Park after they were seen riding there without their helmets on.

6:34 p.m. — Someone witnessed a vandalism incident in the 600 block of Cherry Street. A fence at a vacant house was kicked down by several teens, who then ran down the street.

6:44 p.m. — About a dozen gunshots were reported by a resident on Wentworth Drive near the Marin Country Club. The reporting party said people might be hunting in the hills although it is no longer hunting season.

8 p.m. — Someone reported a woman about 40 years old wearing a pink top and pink pants was yelling at other people at a laundry facility in the 1500 block of South Novato Boulevard.

8:24 p.m. — A woman called to say her 51-year-old son has been the victim of three domestic violence incidents and thinks her daughter-in-law is “crazy.” The son was contacted and told police he would call them if necessary.

9:13 p.m. — A counselor at a treatment house on Marion Court said a female client threatened his life.

11:06 p.m. — An assault/battery was reported in the 400 block of Ignacio Boulevard. One subject was booked at Marin County Jail.

June 28

1:16 a.m. — A verbal disturbance was reported between a man and his wife in the 1000 block of Second Street.

1:36 p.m. — Two people were locked out of their hotel room and stranded on the balcony at Best Western in the 200 block of Alameda del Prado. A fire department ladder truck was called to the scene.

2:57 a.m. — A 12-year-old girl was reported missing in the 700 block of Sunset Parkway. The girl came back to the house and explained that she was sleeping outside on a trampoline.

8:55 a.m. — The CHP asked for assistance when a soapy substance was found on a stretch of Highway 101 near Highway 37. It was thought to be connected to the recent roadwork done in that area.

11:10 p.m. — A gas line was severed at a home in the 1300 block of Cambridge Street. An illegal unit was being installed in the garage.

12:09 p.m. — A red pickup rolled into a green Toyota in a shopping center parking lot on San Marin drive. The cause was deemed to be a brake failure.

12:15 p.m. — A business in the 1700 block of Grant Avenue reported that windows had been shot out.

1:53 p.m. — A man reported seeing suspicious activity in the restroom of a business in the 1500 block of South Novato Boulevard. When the reporting party approached the subject, the subject threatened to stab him and used profanity. He left the store without paying for $10 worth of goods.

2:58 p.m. — A minor non-injury crash was reported in the Vintage Oaks shopping center lot. A silver Jeep collided with a red Honda.

4:37 p.m. — A woman said her ex-boyfriend is leaving things on her car at 75 Rowland Way and leaving her voicemails all day.

6:22 p.m. — A man was hitting his head against a wall and stating that he wanted to hurt himself at a residence in the 800 block of Diablo Avenue. The man was placed on a psychiatric hold at Marin General Hospital.

7:10 p.m. — Someone reported a smashed window on a red Honda in the Safeway parking lot on Nave Drive. An iPhone and wallet were taken.

7:23 p.m. — A name on a job application was found to be associated with multiple felonies, and the interviewed subject believes his identity has been stolen. A criminal history check showed a man with the same name and a different social security number and date of birth was the one with multiple felonies.

7:17 p.m. — A woman wearing a peach-colored shirt and pink pants pushing a stroller was asking customers for money outside a business at 7300 Redwood Boulevard. The woman was advised not to return to the business.

7:52 p.m. — A man was seen speeding through a complex on Monterey Court screaming obscenities. The man was found to be the ex-boyfriend of a woman now dating the reporting party. The driver admitted to action and apologized.

9:13 p.m. — A fight was reported near the intersection of Fourth Street and Carmel Drive. One 51-year-old man was found to have blood gushing down his leg.

10:04 p.m. — A woman said her daughter punched her and then left their home in the 2400 block of Center Road. The daughter, described as bipolar, was detained and placed in a psychiatric hold.

10:40 p.m. — A cooler that was duct-taped shut and had the word “danger” written on the lid was found next to a portable toilet in the 200 block of Hamilton Parkway. The cool was found to have rotten food inside and was disposed.
