Medical Marijuana Collectives: Apparently a High Priority

A few questions are bouncing around Novato about medical marijuana collectives.

* If there's a local moratorium on them, as per a city ordinance updated last year, why were they allowed to open in the first place?

* Why did the feds shut one of them down and not the other last week?

* Why would someone want to open a business knowing full well that selling the product violates federal law?

* Why does the federal government make this such a high priority when there are other more pressing issues?

* Why wouldn't the city fight to allow pot clubs to stay open and provide much-needed sales tax revenue?

* Why would a property owner lease space to somebody who wants to open a pot collective when it's bound to be shut down eventually?
