Inn Marin Installs Charging Station for Electric Vehicles
Station is the first of its kind by a Marin hotel/motel.
Inn Marin in Ignacio already is one of the “greenest” businesses in Marin County, and now it has made a move to cater to electric vehicle owners.
The hotel and restaurant last week installed an EV charging station, the first at such a business in the county. General manager/owner Robert Marshall said Inn Marin partnered with ChargePoint by Coulomb Technologies to install the unit, and a second one will be added as demand rises.
“We are the perfect location for traveler with electric cars who want to explore the Wine Country, the coast or San Francisco all with in 10 to 20 miles,” Marshall said in a release.
Inn Marin/Rickey’s were awarded the Green Business of the Year by the Novato Chamber of Commerce in 2010 and is state certified as a green leader.

I think it is an important step in making electric cars become a reality. The Nissan Leaf can take a charge in 20 minutes and thus travel by a totally electric car becomes possible. I hoping my next car can be a plug in and that there is a good choice available. They say a plug can run on the equivalent of buying gasoline at 3 cents a gallon. With all the other advantages an electric car may become the best choice.
