It's time to start planning for your participation in the 2012 Tour of Novato. First, though, why not head out to Moylan's Monday?
More from Moylan's
Make your way over to Moylan's Brewery & Resturant on Monday, Feb. 13. Make sure you tell them you're dining out to support San Jose Middle School, and they'll donate a portion of the proceeds to the school. Maybe you could take the whole family out for an early Valentine's Day dinner. Consider it your Valentine love to San Jose.
2012 Tour of Novato
At last week's Novato High PTSA, I heard all about what's coming down the (bike) path on Saturday, May 5. It's the 2012 Tour of Novato. Let's hear a big woot-woot. If you think that sounds too much like a train, then let's hear a big ring-ring of our bike bells. There's loads of information on the website, which I linked to above and will link to again here to make it even that much easier for you click.
This year's event, officially known as the 2012 Tour of Novato and FunFair, has moved to a new location: Sherman Avenue in front of the Novato City Hall. In addition to three bike routes, they've added a 5K walk to give more supporters, along with their pets, a chance to take part beyond donating. (But, hey, donate, too!)
Last year's event raised netted $85,000 to Novato schools and School Fuel. Everything you give is tax deductible. And anything you give makes a difference to the school sites individually and, through the School Fuel donations, collectively. You help the schools, you get some exercise, you hang out with friends, you enjoy some entertainment. What's not to like about that?
Check out the Tour's website and check in with your kids' schools and see about joining in by riding or walking or "just" by giving.

Thank you, Patty, for mentioning Tour of Novato and FunFair; the ultimate Walk and Bike to Raise Fund for Novato Schools event.
We are very excited about the new venue, new routes, showcases, new activities, ..etc for the event and we hope to raise a lot more money for the schools this year. Net proceeds will got to support the technological needs for the schools.

Hi Bill: Thank you for your past support and I sincerely hope you will reconsider your position and continue to support our students and community.
The most important asset we have, as far as I am concerned, is our kids.
Providing the best education we can for our kids while working with the constraints we have is critically important to our future. On a local level, good schools help bringing in younger generations to town and building a vibrant community which is a win-win for Novato.
I make a point to separate politics from my support to my community so I don't punish the innocents and/or give up on my passion and my belief due to others’ behavior. I sincerely hope you and other community members will do the same.
Please mark your calendar for May 5th , stop by and say Hi to our students, families, supporters and community members.

Very nicely said, Sylvia. I vehemently oppose the district office and the Board of Trustees on some issues -- as anyone can tell by reading my blog posts -- but I will continue to work in a positive manner to promote the individual school sites, School Fuel and the kids. The Tour of Novato and Fun Fair not only helps them, but it's a heck of a good time, too.

You are robbing Peter to pay Paul and wasting your time . You are working at one end to help, and they just throw it out the window on the other end . This town is turning and the no votes will be big when the next tax measure goes on the Ballot. i will be giving them 1,000.00 to say no more taxes as the Derby thing really pissed me off.

I too was very much against the raise in pay for the new Superintendent. Especially since Novato teachers are getting benefits cut and less money than teachers in other districts in Marin. But the great thing about the Tour of Novato funds are they do not go toward salaries but directly toward the schools and specific programs that our schools need.
