Milestone Race for Local High School Mountain Bike Teams

Last weekend, the Norcal High School Mountain Biking Teams traveled to Marin for the first time and raced out at Stafford Lake in ninety degree heat.

Last weekend marked a milestone event the  and high school mountain biking clubs. It was the first time since the inception of the clubs that they were able to race on their own home turf.

The clubs typically travel throughout Northern California from Monterey to Boggs Mountain for Norcal High School Mountain Bike Races, six weekends every spring. This time organizers staged races at just west of the Novato city limits.

The local clubs have been always been united. They have traveled, raced and practiced together for years. They have shared coaches and coaching philosophies.

Both of my children participated in this sport, and we participated in many unique outdoor experiences together that we will never forget.

Thank you for Marin County Parks and Open Space, NorCal High School Mountain Bike Racing and all the volunteers who made this event possible.
