Robin Friday and the grandson of the "Barber of Birmingham"'s main subject appear on CBS 5's "Bay Sunday"

Novato's Robin Fryday was in disbelief when she learned her short documentary, "The Barber of Birmingham," was nominated for an Academy Award, according to an interview she gave with the Marin Independent Journal.

Congratulations Robin! This is a great film with a wonderful message. I saw it in both the Sundance and Mill Valley Film Festivals and would see it yet again. It shows us how far we have come and makes us reflect on the work still needing to be done. Equal rights for all!
