Bachelorette Party Gets Rowdy at Novato Restaurant

The Headliner: 

Aug 19, 11:42 p.m. – A reporting party at Maya Palenque Restaurant on Enfrente Road said there were women there "out of control." Officer(s) contacted a group with a bachelorette party involved in a verbal dispute with other patrons.  There were no violations but the party was asked to leave at management’s request. 

Aug 17 

12:52 a.m. – A woman on Cricklewood Drive said she was awakened by a 20-year-old man mumbling outside her window.  She said he headed down Cricklewood toward Redwood Boulevard and met up with a man and a woman. They possibly had been drinking.  The woman was contacted who said she had a verbal argument with her boyfriend and was looking for a cell phone that he had thrown.  She was minimally cooperative and wouldn’t provide information on her boyfriend or any vehicle involved. 

2:54 a.m. – Suspicious circumstances were reported as a result of a loud explosion heard in the vicinity of San Carlos Way and San Marin Drive. 

3:32 a.m. – A man was booked for driving under the influence in the vicinity of Monte Maria Avenue and Sunset Parkway. 

8:53 a.m. – A woman wearing a black dress with a small dog was reported inside the children’s play area at McDonald's on Redwood Boulevard.  The reporting party said she was barely able to stand.  A warrant arrest was made. 

12:13 p.m. – A driver cited for vehicle code violations also had his vehicle impounded in the vicinity of Alameda De La Loma and Alameda Del Prado. 

4:38 p.m. – A burglary was reported in the 1100 block of Elm Drive.  The back window to an apartment was slid open and a room was ransacked.  Unknown(s) took $658 worth of the victim’s property. 

8:09 p.m. – A green older-model Ford Explorer was seen driving on the bike path from Stafford Lake at about 30 mph heading in a direction toward Sutro Avenue. When the vehicle got to barricades it turned around and headed back toward Stafford Lake.  Vehicle was gone on arrival and could not be located. 

Aug 18 

8:05 a.m. – A petty theft was reported on Oro Court.  Unknown(s) gained entry into an unlocked vehicle over night and stole a GPS unit.  Loss is $249. 

9:25 a.m. – A burglary was reported on Blanca Drive.  Unknown(s) gained entry into a locked vehicle through and open window.  A glove box was damaged, and a GPS unit and some CDs were stolen.  The loss is about $400. 

10:14 a.m. – A burglary was reported in the 1300 block of Yukon Way.  Unknown(s) broke the lock hasp off of a padlocked shed and stole numerous tools.  Loss is about $2,000. 

10:11 a.m. – A burglary was reported on La Costa Court.  Unknown(s) broke into the victim’s locked green Honda Accord and stole the victims wallet with a credit card.

10:51 a.m. – A second burglary was reported on La Costa Court.  Unknown(s) gained entry into a locked vehicle by reaching through a car window that had been left open.  A credit card was stolen which was subsequently used at an unknown location in Richmond. 

11:16 a.m. – A 2 ½-year-old child was reported found walking by himself in the middle of the street in the vicinity of Eighth Street and Grant Avenue.  The mother was contacted who had fallen asleep and didn’t realize that her son could open the door.  A report was forwarded to Marin County Children and Family Services for documentation and assistance for the mother. 

3:49 p.m. – Miscellaneous code violations were reported on Boulevard Terrace after a woman with power of attorney for her mother found a revolver at her mother’s residence. The tenant is a relation that has a court order to have no guns.  The firearm and ammo were booked into evidence. 

9:36 p.m. – A woman reported that her husband hit her in the face with a closed hand.  The parties are separated and the woman is in a parking lot.  One was arrested for injury to a co-habitant. 

Aug 19 

12:32 a.m. – A welfare check was requested for a missing cancer patient last seen the previous day at 5:30 p.m.  GPS coordinates from his vehicle showed it in the area north of Rowland Boulevard. The man was located and the Sonoma County Sherriff’s Office picked him up. 

4:40 a.m. – Vandalism was reported in the 1200 block of Second Street.  Unknown(s) smashed the rear window of a black Chevy pick up parked in a driveway of a residence.  

10:14 a.m. – An unwanted person was reported at Novato Horse and Pet Supply.  A man living out of a blue tent has been asked to leave repeatedly over the past two months.  The man was contacted and advised to move his encampment. 

3:06 p.m. – A family disturbance was reported in the 1800 block of Virginia Avenue. A boy reported that his grandfather and grandmother got into a verbal argument and that his grandfather had hit him in the head.  No drugs or drinking were involved.  The grandparents were arguing over how the grandchildren were being raised and how the grandchildren fight among themselves.  There was no physical altercation. 

3:08 p.m. – A warrant arrest was made in the vicinity of Grant Avenue and Redwood Boulevard. 

5:15 p.m. – A warrant arrest was made at the Wyndover Apartments.  The man was booked into Marin County Jail for two outstanding misdemeanor warrants totaling $20,000. 

6:19 p.m. – A report of a man screaming at a woman in the vicinity of First Street and Industrial Way resulted in the woman being arrested and booked for a $5,000 misdemeanor warrant. 

9:02 p.m. – A silver Mazda reported weaving on the freeway had exited at De Long Avenue.  The driver was arrested and booked for driving under the influence. 

10:24 p.m. – A fake ID was turned in after a girl trying to buy alcohol at Mike’s Liquor on Grant Street was told she didn’t look 21 and she ran out of the store leaving the ID behind.  

Aug 20 

1:45 a.m. – A report of a man chasing a woman who then started choking her and then pulled her into a silver Chrysler 300 in the 200 block of Entrada Drive resulted in an arrest for aggravated assault.

9:58 a.m. – An alarm heard inside the former Hamilton Café on Palm Drive was reported by a passerby.  The north door was found unlocked and everything inside was in order.

11:56 a.m. – An unwanted person was reported at the Wells Fargo bank on Grant Avenue after a woman became upset because the bank wouldn’t cash her check without proper verification. The woman started yelling for someone to call the police. The woman was advised that it is standard practice for banks to verify checks for large amounts before cashing them. The woman is not a Wells Fargo customer. She was advised to go to her own bank, which is Bank of America. A branch of which is right across the street.

12:49 p.m. – A man on Muroc Lake Drive was arrested on a Sonoma County warrant and booked into Marin County Jail. 

4:27 p.m. – A petty theft was reported in the 400 block of San Marin Drive.  Unknown(s) stole patio chairs from a victim’s front porch over night. 

7:22 p.m. – Unwanted persons were reported in the vicinity of Lark Court and Novato Boulevard.  Two homeless men were in the parking lot with a barbecue.  Flames were reported 6 feet high.  Officer(s) contacted two people in the parking lot, one of them lived at the complex and was asked by the landlord to cook in the parking lot so as not to disturb the neighbors.  The barbecue looked safe and no violations were observed. 

11:56 p.m. – An elderly woman driving a blue Toyota Rav4 was seen weaving in and out of lanes in the 900 block of Diablo Avenue.  The reporting party said it appeared she could barely see over the steering wheel.  The driver was contacted who suffers from Parkinson’s and takes medication.  It was apparent that it was not safe to let her resume driving.  She was given transportation home and a DMV re-exam form was submitted to the DMV. 

Aug 21 

2 a.m. – A person was booked for driving under the influence in the vicinity of Fourth Street and Grant Avenue.  

10:18 a.m. – A man was arrested for an outstanding warrant on Jennifer Lane and booked into the Marin County Jail. 

10:53 a.m. – A woman on Plaza Hermosa was making suicidal threats.  It was determined she may be a danger to her self or others and was transported to Marin General Hospital for psychiatric evaluation. 

4:52 p.m. – A woman on Moore Road reported that a neighbor was yelling at children over the fence because they were jumping on a trampoline and making noise.  The woman has proper documentation to run a day care and was asked to contact police in the future if there was any harassment or threatening of the children. 

4:55 p.m. – A man on Moore Road complained that he was under extreme duress because he wasn’t given notice of a day care center opening near his residence.  He said the children at the day care center are too loud.  There was no answer at the residence so a message was left. 

4:55 p.m. – A Novato woman reported that she believes her ex-boyfriend in custody at Marin County Jail with whom she has a domestic violence restraining order against has been attempting to call her from jail.  

5:18 p.m. – A reporting party on Columbine Lane said annoying calls were being left from an ex-employee fired from the reporting party’s business in San Francisco for stealing $300.  The reporting party did not report the crime to SFPD.  The victim was educated about the laws and advised to contact SFPD to report the incident.  The victim was also advised to contact the NPD again if the former employee continues to leave messages. 

5:39 p.m. – A fight was reported between two women at the Wyndover Apartments on Diablo Avenue.  The reporting party said the walls in the apartment had been shaking.  A resident was contacted who said it was a sibling rivalry between a brother and a sister.  The mother and son were admonished. 

7:52 p.m. – A man was booked for an outstanding warrant out of Missouri and a violation pertaining to possession of marijuana.  The arrest was made on southbound Highway 101 at Highway 37. 

10:22 p.m. – An assault and battery was reported in the 1000 block of Lark Court.  A mutual combat between a man and a woman resulted in injuries to both.  Both requested that a complaint be filed for battery.  Both were cited and released.  The woman left the residence without incident.
