The red fox is not native to our area, the grey fox is, so this is an interesting sighting. I would be curious to know where this fox was seen.

I saw a red fox in my cherry tree this morning in Loma Verde. I have seen it several times in the late afternoon by the creek behind my house.

I saw one but it was last year in Indian Valley and the reason he caught my attention is the beautiful red color of his fur. I had to pull over and watch him. I've mentioned it to several people who also say that he is not native to this area so I'm not sure why he is here but what a beauty!

I just saw one by our window! here at Lark Ct. I was so amazed to see a wild fox for the 1st time. Cause usually I see a deer, possum, cat, raccoon and birds by our window. =)

Red foxes have long been present in Marin. They were East Coast imports, escaped from fur farms or introduced for fox hunting. They are a particularly invasive species and are particularly fond of local endangered species such as the salt marsh harvest mouse and the California clapper rail.

I saw one loping next to the Shell station on Alameda del Prado. We followed it by car as it took the North 101 freeway entrance and ran along the highway. Beautiful animal. I wonder if he was headed towards his namesake restaurant at the next exit.

Dave: I love that video. If you can post it to YouTube, I can grab the URL and place it on this Patch story for everybody to see.

He is frequently seen at the apartments on the west side of S. Novato Blvd. between California Grill and Deerfield Ln. Often times he is seen crossing S. Novato Blvd. in that same block. He is starting to be very comfortable in human presence.
